AYSO Region 12 has a desire to provide a longer season and more opportunities for greater player development for our top, elite and most skilled players.
In each division coaches recommend the top number of players from their core team.
Coaches discuss expectations and nominations with parents to ensure commitment.
Talking points provided to coaches
Coaches identify positions for identified players.
Coaches submit player names to Division Coordinator (DC) with justification
Travel Team Selection Committee to help finalize list.
Committee reviews submissions by observing players on the field.
Committee makes additional recommendations or subtractions from list.
Committee consists of DC, Coach Admin, another coach in a different division and Challenger coach.
Committee narrows list to max tournament roster for that division plus an additional 2-5 players.
Coaches provided Travel Team Coach Application at Coach Meeting
Coach submits application to Travel Team Coach Application Committee by mid September.
Committee consists of 5 individuals:
Regional Commissioner
Division Coordinator
Coach Administrator
Referee Administrator
DC of one level up*
*If DC of level up is not available may be replaced by CVPA (1st) or DC of level down (2nd)
Coaches notified after 1st Board Meeting in October of selection or non-selection
Player Selection Committee works with coach to submit final roster.
Players selected and notified by mid October
After team formed, assistant coach, team manager, and team parent to be board approved.
Travel Team expectations to include commitment from selection in mid-October through June.

The AYSO Region 12 Board has the final say in all matters related to player and coach selection and participation of both before, during and after the season.
Region 12 to set up and administer payment for Travel Team with payment plan option.
Estimated total initial cost of $600 to include
7 tournaments @ $70.00 each, uniform, and jacket.
Player families responsible for any additional costs including tournament fees.
Player families to be refunded any unused costs/fees including referee deposits.
